I just finished watching the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! where Spinelli promptly tells everyone to go buy Porsche 911s and I decided to go looking at them, again. I was curious if the Drive guys might be driving up the air cooled 911 prices like I thought they may have.
That's when I found this. A 1993 Porsche 911 RS America with 17,646 miles that looks like it came out of Steve Jobs other !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . The real reason I'm sharing this is because at first I was amazed at how high the price was, the more I thought about it though I realized I can't determine if this is a good investment or just a seller looking for a buyer who's been affected by a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Seriously Oppo, help a guy out, I can't decide. NPOCP?

SO DAMN CLEAN...
But not $150k clean. I don't think any classic 911 is $150k clean.
Ok maybe a few. But not this one.

Seems high to me. I don't think Isringhausen isn't going to sell any car cheap, but this seems too high.

I don't even think it's worth $70k. Maybe somewhere between $20-40k, $10k if you wanna lowball the owner for giggles; but there's no way that'd sell for $150k. It's not like it's an original Carrera RS from '73, or a fully loaded 991. I'd pay in excess of $100k for those if I had that kind of money. Just because it's clean doesn't mean it's perfect.
My Dad's '74 911 is probably worth $5-8k in it's current condition, but with some TLC it could be higher. It really does depend on the model, model year, condition and timing when it comes to these cars.
The other thing with these cars is that you'll always put more money into them than you can get out of them; like a girlfriend in some ways. But you do get a very rewarding experience in the end. :)
I'd recommend joining some of the Porsche forums before going into a car like this. Try Rennlist and Pelican Parts.

" Price (no $ sign please): $149900"
Bite me, I'm a Porsche. I'm made of dollar signs.

Many many many crack pipes. That's a gorgeous 911, and the 964 is shockingly valuable, but that's an utterly absurd price.
I get that clean ones are rare, and that this is one of the cleanest, but $150 large? Come on, now.

Haha, no. A clean low mileage RS America is nice but not that high. My very nice 930 was 42k and it is always going to be a better car. The 964 is a good car but its never going to have people lust after it like a 930.

Crack pipe. $150k is 993 GT2 territory - not 964 territory.
